What the hell is a miku miku dance? Well, if you’re a well rounded otaku freak (I’m not, but I play one on the internet) you’ll of course have heard of Vocaloid, and it’s mascot Hatsune Miku. Vocaloid is a program that allows you to make dialogue and song directly from text with computer generated voices, without having to go through the dangerous and tedious business of talking to a woman and or paying her to record some voice samples.

The app in question isn’t the vocaloid program (Which is commercial software) but rather a promotional doohickey you can use to animate a rather nice 3d model of Miku that comes pre-loaded and make your own music videos.

And no, you can’t take her clothes off. Though I guess you can make her flash her pantsu.

Akumi ep. 3 has been released. And it’s looking quite nice. Big improvement in animation quality even from ep. 2.

The little censor bars and circles are a bit annoying but I guess that’s the price to pay for using youtube. Embedded the uncensored version from youtube japan, thanks C2!

For those not familiar with bleach, it’s a fun series about a teenager who turns into a shinigami, the japanese equivalent of the grim reaper, when he meets Rukia here.

Primal instinct pro has released part 2 of their animated series, Akumi.

This one is on google video so the bandwidth shouldn’t be a problem but of course that means it doesn’t have any explicit content.

The episode looks pretty good, I think the weakest part are the voices, not that the voice acting is bad but possibly the recording could be improved, no doubt they’re working with a tight budget and amateur equipment, so they can’t be blamed for any shortcomings.

I just noticed Alchemy Atelier has a blog. This is the website of the japanese artist whose use of 3d first inspired me to try it out. He’s currently doing a 3d model of Saber from Fate/Stay night that blows away anything I could do (No adult content though, he doesn’t do porn)

I guess I have something to shoot for in terms of quality (Yes he does use the same software I do so I have no excuse!)

I’ve just recovered from a bout of the flu and I’m back to work on some new animations, meanwhile, lacking content of my own I thought I’d point you to some nice stuff I came accross:

Akumi, episode 1 by Primal Instinct is a neat flash based “webisode” (Remember those?) featuring some cool action sequences and tasty elf abuse.

The short has received some criticism due to it’s explicit content. AFAIK it could’ve been a little more explicit for my tastes, but then that’s hardly surprising.

The animation is a 167 meg download in .mov format (Not sure why it isn’t in flash format but then I’m not an expert in flash, I just use it as a container sometimes)

Imma Seiden

Clicking that link leads to a gallery with several clips from Imma seiden, you can see the full movie on streaming video via pay per view. (This site uses licensed content from the studios so you’ll be supporting the industry if you do, unlike p2p downloads, heh like anyone cares)

I don’t watch that much hentai anime, even though I produce hentai animations myself I usually read manga and dojinshi instead. Most hentai animation is rather poorly produced and low quality, but Imma seiden is a cut above the rest. The animation quality is good and it actually has a plot.

In fact it is very similar to a hentai version of Mai Hime, that is, it would be if it wasn’t actually an older series, so maybe Mai Hime is actually a mainstream version of Imma Seiden. This isn’t as unlikely as it sounds considering how things in japan make the jump from porn to mainstream far more easily than they do in the rest of the world.

The setup is the typical “school full of pretty girls where evil monsters lurk”, the girls have special powers and aren’t complete pushovers, and sometimes they manage to avoid getting tentacled which makes for a bit of tittilation. The tentacle scenes are well animated and don’t cop out with the “magical clothes ripping” shortcut other movies in this genre do to save having to animate complex stuff like clothing + tentacles. Also there is no excessive gore/body deformations like in other more recent tentacle animes which I find to be a turnoff.

The girl in the sample gallery has a little batlike pet that transforms into a giant monster when she needs protection. The monster wants to rape her but since she can control his transformation she can turn him back into a harmless form whenever she wants. I haven’t seen the episode those clips are from but I’m guesssing her classmates are being controlled and she doesn’t want to use her pet monster because he would kill them, so…

All in all it’s a pretty fappable show that won’t insult your intelligence while you’re watching it. Contains tentacles, monster and human rape but no dickgirls, at least in the first 3 episodes.

Honest to god, the distinction between mainstream anime and hentai is getting thinner and thinner every day…
