Non Non 1/6 Figure Illustrated by Shunya Yamashita

While many have heard of Masumune Shiro (of Ghost in the Shell Fame), there is another illustrator worthy of being called a Master of character designers - Shunya Yamashita (who is known for working in Final Fantasy X as a character and weapons designer). This mouthwatering figure of Non Non is an original character, famous for her very large saber and the super mini skirt Chinese Dress (Cheongsam, or Qipao), is brought to you by the folks at Yamato in a high quality PVC form, that is...

My Neighbor Totoro -- Totoro No Sanpo ~ Blue Chu Totoro

There's something ingenious about these mini Studio Ghibli plush toys we just cant put our finger on -- oh wait that's right they vibrate! What's not to love about a cute little toy that shakes and whirrs in the palm of your hand and goes for 'a little walk' when you pull the string and put it on a smooth surface. Kawaii!! About 3.5 inches tall. This is the Chu (blue) Totoro version. (More like this) (Direct link to this product)

There's a large variety of mimikaki in use and available in Japan, with everything from Hello Kitty to traditional bamboo. This is an interesting variation with a little bell and origami crane attached to one end (not the cleaning end!). Has the Kanji character 'Kotobuki' (celebration) that is sometimes found on traditional gift envelopes, sake cups...

Revoltech Yotsuba ~ Yotsubato

Revoltech takes on the wildly energetic and whimsical Yotsuba Koiwai character, from the manga "Yotsuba&" (pronounced "Yotsuba And"), and "Try! Try! Try!" by Kiyohiko Azuma (creator of Azumanga Daioh) -- this is the kind of character that gets to be more expressive as a Revoltech figure because of the wide range of poses and movements that Revoltech is famous for. Yotsuba is also the mascot for the popular imageboard 4chan, known in Japan as the 'Yotsuba Channel'. Cast in high-grade PVC, with...
